We help where the need is greatest in Houston in providing food and hot meals to the those who are in need. Poverty continues to grow throughout our communities and here at Saint James United Methodist Church we are striving to feed as many families and communities as we can. You can help us make a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate.
The Summer Food Service Program was created to ensure that children in low-income areas could continue to receive nutritious meals during long school vacations, when they do not have access to school lunch. We provide nutritious and free meals to children 18 and younger during the summer months. These nutritious packed lunches are prepared to comply with federal and state requirements. They include one serving of milk, two or more servings of vegetables and/or fruits, one serving of grain or bread, and one serving of meat or meat alternative. The Saint James UMC Summer food program will start on June 2, 2014 at 11:00 am-12:15pm. Youth between the ages of 1-18 yrs. old can particiapte in the program.
